We'd first like to thank all our members for using Kakao Services.

 

Please be informed that amendments will be made to the Kakao Account Terms and Condition, Kakao Comprehensive Terms of Service, Kakao Terms of Service & Kakao Comprehensive Terms and Conditions effective Dec. 07, 2021.

 

1. Amendments

Article 8. Modification and Termination of the Kakao Account Service

①The Company exerts every effort in providing the Service 24/7/365. If a case falls under any of the following subparagraphs, all or part of the Service shall be restricted or suspended by the Company.


1.Regular or provisional check for equipment maintenance of the Kakao Account Service
2.Service disruption due to blackout, equipment failure, or traffic overload
3.Any case that the Company can no longer maintain the Kakao Account Service due to changes in circumstance including termination of Partnership Agreement, the government order/restriction, changes in the Service/Member policies etc.
4.Natural disaster, national emergency, or other force majeure events


Service suspension due to any of the foregoing causes shall be notified or announced in the method prescribed in Article 14. Repeated logins and/or additional consent from users may be required when using Services in order to modify Services or policies seamlessly. However, any cause the Company is unable to predict or control (ex. Disc/server failure or system down without the Company's negligence) shall make an exception of prior notification or announcement herein. Even for such exceptional cause, the Company shall exert its utmost effort to recover the Service at the earliest possible time.

Suspension of the Kakao Account Service that is due to any of the foregoing reasons shall be notified or announced in the method prescribed in Article 14. Repeated logins and/or additional consent from users may be required when using Services in order to modify Services or policies seamlessly. However, prior notifications and announcements cannot be provided if the Service is suspended for reasons the Company is unable to predict or control (ex. Disc, server or system failure that is not due to the Company's negligence). However, the Company shall still make its utmost effort to immediately restore the Service once the cause is identified. If Service restoration is delayed for more than two (2) hours, such delay shall be alerted through Kakao Services' Notice and Kakao Customer Support Notice sections.

①The Company exerts every effort in providing the Comprehensive Service 24/7/365. If a case falls under any of the following subparagraphs, all or part of the Comprehensive Service may be restricted or suspended by the Company.

3.Any case that the Company can no longer maintain all or part of the Comprehensive Service, due to changes in circumstance including termination of Partnership Agreement, the government order/restriction, changes in the Service/Member policies etc.

Article 7. Modification and Termination of the Comprehensive Services

The Company exerts every effort to provide the Comprehensive Service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, parts or all of the Comprehensive Service may be restricted or suspended in any of the following circumstances:

 

1. Regular or temporary inspection needed for maintenance·repair of equipment used for the Comprehensive Service

2. Disruption of normal Comprehensive Service use due to blackouts, equipment failure and/or traffic overload

3. Cases where parts or all of the Comprehensive Service can no longer be maintained due to changes in the Company's circumstances, such as the termination of a partnership agreement, government order/restrictions and/or changes in the Service/Member policies.

4. Other force majeure events, including natural disasters and national emergencies.

Repeated logins and/or additional consent from users may be required when using Services in order to modify Services or policies seamlessly. However, prior notifications and announcements is not provided if the Service is suspended for reasons the Company is unable to predict or control (ex. Disc, server or system failure that is not due to the Company's negligence). However, the Company shall still make its utmost effort to immediately restore the Service once the cause is identified. If Service restoration is delayed for more than two (2) hours, such delay shall be alerted through the Services' Notice and Kakao Customer Support Notice sections.

Services may be suspended occasionally.

Kakao strives to provide Services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption. However, as a result of a regular or temporary inspection of the equipment for maintenance or repair or due to other unavoidable causes, Services may temporarily be suspended. In such case, we will provide a prior notice to you within the relevant Service.
In such a case, repeated logins and/or additional consent from users may be required when using Services in order to modify Services or policies seamlessly. If Services are suspended due to causes not foreseen by Kakao, Kakao will notify you thereof immediately after Kakao determines the causes for the relevant suspension.

ARTICLE 13. Using, Modifying and Terminating Services

1.The Company does its best to provide Services 24/7 all year round. However, we may temporarily stop our Services for regular or temporary inspection for maintenance, repair or for other reasons, and we will make sure to give you advance notice within Services on such occasions. If Services are unexpectedly suspended, the Company will make its utmost efforts to figure out the possible causes and restore Services as soon as possible.

2. Effective Date

The amended Terms & Conditions will take effect on Dec. 07, 2021.
