Article 8. Modification and Termination of the Kakao Account Service

①The Company exerts every effort in providing the Service 24/7/365. If a case falls under any of the following subparagraphs, all or part of the Service shall be restricted or suspended by the Company.
1.Regular or provisional check for equipment maintenance of the Kakao Account Service
2.Service disruption due to blackout, equipment failure, or traffic overload
3.Any case that the Company can no longer maintain the Kakao Account Service due to changes in circumstance including termination of Partnership Agreement, the government order/restriction, etc.
4.Natural disaster, national emergency, or other force majeure events

②Service suspension due to any of the foregoing causes shall be notified or announced in the method prescribed in the Article 12, provided that any cause that the Company is unable to predict or control (ex. Disc/server failure or system down without the Company's negligence) shall make an exception of prior notification or announcement herein. However, even for such exceptional cause, the Company shall exert its utmost effort to recover the Service at the earliest possible time.

③Modification or termination of the Service shall be individually notified via email to a registered email address, or via KakaoTalk message or text message to a registered mobile phone number. (If a user registered no email address, the aforementioned notification shall be announced via electronic note or pop-up message in the Service.)

②Service suspension due to any of the foregoing causes shall be notified or announced in the method prescribed in Article 14. Repeated logins and/or additional consent from users may be required when using Services in order to modify Services or policies seamlessly. However, any cause the Company is unable to predict or control (ex. Disc/server failure or system down without the Company's negligence) shall make an exception of prior notification or announcement herein. Even for such exceptional cause, the Company shall exert its utmost effort to recover the Service at the earliest possible time.

Article 12. Member Obligations

③Unless a Member abides by the relevant laws and regulations, and all sorts of Terms and Conditions or Policies of the Company, his/her contravention may be investigated; his/her use of the Service may be temporarily or continuously suspended; or his/her resubscription may be restricted by the Company.

③ If you fail to abide by relevant laws and regulations, all Terms and Conditions and/or Policies of the Company, your contravention may be investigated, use of the Service may be temporarily or continuously suspended, and re-subscription may be restricted by the Company. If you adversely affect the provision of Services or severely interfere with the stable operation of Services by causing malfunction of equipment or by destroying or creating disorder in the system, the Company may restrict you from using your account. However, you can appeal through Customer Service if you are dissatisfied with the imposed restriction.

①The Company exerts every effort in providing the Comprehensive Service 24/7/365. If a case falls under any of the following subparagraphs, all or part of the Comprehensive Service may be restricted or suspended by the Company.
1.Regular or provisional check for equipment maintenance of the Comprehensive Service equipment
2.Service disruption due to blackout, equipment failure, or traffic overload
3.Any case that the Company can no longer maintain all or part of the Comprehensive Service, due to changes in circumstance including termination of Partnership Agreement, the government order/restriction, etc.

4.Natural disaster, national emergency, or other force majeure events

②Service suspension due to any of the foregoing causes shall be notified or announced in the method prescribed in the Article 17, provided that any cause that the Company is unable to predict or control (ex. Disc/server failure or system down without the Company's negligence) will make an exception of such prior notification or announcement. However, even for such exceptional cause, the Company will exert its utmost effort to recover the Service at the earliest possible time.

①The Company exerts every effort in providing the Comprehensive Service 24/7/365. If a case falls under any of the following subparagraphs, all or part of the Comprehensive Service may be restricted or suspended by the Company.
1.Regular or provisional check for equipment maintenance of the Comprehensive Service equipment
2.Service disruption due to blackout, equipment failure, or traffic overload
3.Any case that the Company can no longer maintain all or part of the Comprehensive Service, due to changes in circumstance including termination of Partnership Agreement, the government order/restriction, changes in the Service/Member policies etc.
4.Natural disaster, national emergency, or other force majeure events

②Service suspension due to any of the foregoing causes shall be notified or announced in the method prescribed in the Article 17. In such a case, repeated logins and/or additional consent from users may be required when using Services in order to modify Services or policies seamlessly. However, any cause the Company is unable to predict or control (ex. Disc/server failure or system down without the Company's negligence) will make an exception of such prior notification or announcement. Even for such exceptional cause, the Company will exert its utmost effort to recover the Service at the earliest possible time.

Article 12. The Attentive Points and Methods to use the Comprehensive Service

③ As prescribed in the following subparagraphs, part of the Comprehensive Services may be restricted depending on age or status of users.
1.A user aged under 19 years (exclusive of a person who rings in the New Year of 19 years old) shall be prohibited to use any material declared "Harmful to Youths" under the Youth Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.
2.Any person aged 19 years or older are allowed to use the foregoing "Harmful to Youths" only after his/her name, age and identity verifications as prescribed in the Youth Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. Without such verification, the aforementioned services shall be restricted to use.

④ Unless you abide by the relevant laws and regulations, or any Terms and Conditions or Policies provided by the Company, the Company shall be able to investigate into your breaches, delete the postings in question temporarily or permanently, restrict all or part of Individual Services constituting the Comprehensive Services continuously or temporarily, or limit the reactivation of the Comprehensive Services or some Individual Services.

Article 12. The Attentive Points and Methods to use the Comprehensive Service

③ As prescribed in the following subparagraphs, parts of the Comprehensive Services may be restricted to users of specific ages or status.
1. Users 19 years old or below (excluding users who turn 19 on January 1, and is applied herein) shall be prohibited from using any material declared "Harmful to Youths" under the Youth Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.
2. Anyone 19 years old or above is allowed to use the foregoing "Harmful to Youths" only after his/her name, age and identity is verified as prescribed in the Youth Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. Without such verification, the aforementioned services shall be restricted to use.
3. Use of all or portions of the Service below by users under the age of 19 is restricted for a specified period of time if requested by a legal guardian or through consent by the user who is below 19 years of age.

④ If you fail to abide by relevant laws and regulations, all Terms and Conditions and/or Policies of the Company, your contravention may be investigated, the posting in question may be continuously or temporarily deleted, the use of your entire account or Comprehensive Service or individual Services that constitutes the Comprehensive Service may be temporarily or continuously suspended, or re-subscription to the Comprehensive Service or re-use of some individual Services may be restricted by the Company. If you adversely affect the provision of Comprehensive Services or severely interfere with the stable operation of Comprehensive Services by causing malfunction of equipment or by destroying or creating disorder in the system, the Company may restrict you from using your account. However, you can appeal through Customer Service if you are dissatisfied with the imposed restriction.

Please pay particular attention to the following.

If you fail to comply with applicable laws, the Terms of Service and/or other policies of Kakao, Kakao may conduct an investigation into the non-compliance, delete or temporarily delete the relevant post, or suspend your use of Services either temporarily or permanently. Kakao has the right to destroy or store your personal information separately if your account has been inactive for the period specified in the relevant laws. Kakao will notify you via email or SMS before proceeding. Please note that this may result in the lack of required information and lead to the termination of the Terms of Service. 

Please refer to the Kakao Operation Policy for more information on your use of Services.

Kakao has the right to destroy or store your personal information separately if your account has been inactive for the period specified in relevant laws. Kakao will notify you via effective channels, including email, SMS or KakaoTalk messages, before deleting or storing your information. 

Please note that this may result in the lack of required information and lead to the termination of the Terms of Service. Please refer to the Kakao Operation Policy for more information on your use of Services, including activities that are prohibited during Service use, restrictions that follow such violations and Kakao Services' policies on dormant accounts.

Services may be suspended occasionally.

Kakao strives to provide Services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption. However, as a result of a regular or temporary inspection of the equipment for maintenance or repair or due to other unavoidable causes, Services may temporarily be suspended. In such case, we will provide a prior notice to you within the relevant Service. If Services are suspended due to causes not foreseen by Kakao, Kakao will notify you thereof immediately after Kakao determines the causes for the relevant suspension.

Services may be suspended occasionally.

Kakao strives to provide Services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption. However, as a result of a regular or temporary inspection of the equipment for maintenance or repair or due to other unavoidable causes, Services may temporarily be suspended. In such case, we will provide a prior notice to you within the relevant Service. In such a case, repeated logins and/or additional consent from users may be required when using Services in order to modify Services or policies seamlessly. If Services are suspended due to causes not foreseen by Kakao, Kakao will notify you thereof immediately after Kakao determines the causes for the relevant suspension.

ARTICLE 4. Creating and Linking Kakao Account and Daum ID

3.You do not necessarily need a Kakao Account to use Kakao Services, but you may need a Kakao Account for certain Kakao Services. You may only use Daum Services with a Daum ID that agreed to Daum Terms of Service. If you want to use features connected to Kakao Services among Daum Services, you should use Daum Services with your Kakao Account or link your Kakao Account with your Daum ID.If you use Daum Services with your Kakao Account or link your Daum ID you registered before with your Kakao Account, you may use information you set up on Kakao and Daum Services, records of service use and others on both services.

4.If you agree to these Terms and Conditions to use Daum Services with your Kakao Account or link your Kakao Account with your Daum ID, only these Terms and Conditions will apply and both Kakao Terms of Service and Daum Terms of Service will no longer apply.

You may only use Daum Services with a Daum ID that agreed to Daum Terms of Service. If you want to use features connected to Kakao Services among Daum Services, you should use Daum Services with your Kakao Account or link your Kakao Account with your Daum ID. If you use Daum Services with your Kakao Account or link your Daum ID you registered before with your Kakao Account, you may use information you set up on Kakao and Daum Services, records of service use and others on both services. The link between accounts can be terminated after Members are notified due to reasons that include changes in the Company's Service Member policy.

4.If you agree to these Terms and Conditions to use Daum Services with your Kakao Account or link your Kakao Account with your Daum ID, only these Terms and Conditions will apply and both Kakao Terms of Service and Daum Terms of Service will no longer apply. However, if links between the accounts are terminated, the Kakao Comprehensive Terms of Service, the Kakao Terms or Service or the Daum Terms of Service may apply in accordance to changes made to the Terms of Service.

ARTICLE 8. How to Use Services and Things to Be Careful of

3.If you do not have any record of signing in or accessing Services during the time period set by applicable laws, we may discard or store your information separately by sending email, SMS or KakaoTalk notifications to the email address or phone number you registered with or using other effective means. If there is not enough necessary information as a result, you may not be eligible to use Services. Also, if you do not sign in to Daum Services for three (3) months, receiving emails in Daum Mail Service may be limited. For more information on using Services, see our Operation Policy.

ARTICLE 8. How to Use Services and Things to Be Careful of

ARTICLE 13. Using, Modifying and Terminating Services

2.We may modify functionalities or features of a Service, or suspend or stop a Service because the contract signed with a content provider for service provision is terminated or modified or a new service is launched. We will post notice of such modifications or terminations on the screen or the Notices page in the individual Service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you individually of any modification or termination that materially affect your rights or obligations, by sending an email (other electronic means such as a notification within the service if you do not have an email) or SMS to your phone number.

ARTICLE 13. Using, Modifying and Terminating Services

We may modify functionalities or features of a Service, or suspend or stop a Service because the contract signed with a content provider for service provision is terminated or modified, Service/Member policies are modified or a new service is launched. We will post notice of such modifications or terminations on the screen or the Notices page in the individual Service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you individually of any modification or termination that materially affect your rights or obligations, by sending an email (other electronic means such as a notification within the service if you do not have an email) or SMS to your phone number. Repeated logins and/or additional consent from users may be required when using Services in order to modify Services or policies seamlessly.

4. Use of Account and Service may be restricted.

If your activities violate the relevant laws and regulations, terms and conditions, or operation policies, the Company shall be able to restrict your Kakao Account and your use of Services to protect other users. Please assure that if any activity that is not prescribed herein impedes on the provision of sound service environment or on the Service Use of other users, such activity shall be restricted hereunder.

The Service Use shall be restricted temporarily or permanently, depending on the accumulated number of violation; provided, however, that lewd postings, gambling promotions, emergent risk or any explicit unlawful activities required to be prohibited under the relevant laws and regulations shall be restricted permanently without delay, regardless of the accumulated number of violation.

4. Use of Account and Service may be restricted.

If your activities violate the relevant laws and regulations, terms and conditions, or operation policies, the Company shall be able to restrict your Kakao Account and your use of Services to protect other users. Please assure that if any activity that is not prescribed herein impedes on the provision of sound service environment or on the Service Use of other users, such activity shall be restricted hereunder.
If specific use environment or patterns, which are deemed as abnormal logins or can possibly violate the Terms of Service or Operation Policies, are detected, user protection measures that restrict activities that are identical or similar to those detected may be put into effect in order to protect user activities.

The Service use shall be restricted temporarily or permanently, depending on the accumulated number of violation; provided, however, that lewd postings, gambling promotions, emergent risk or any explicit unlawful activities required to be prohibited under the relevant laws and regulations shall be restricted permanently without delay, regardless of the accumulated number of violation. If you adversely affect the provision of Comprehensive Services or severely interfere with the stable operation of Comprehensive Services by causing malfunction of equipment or by destroying or creating disorder in the system, the Company may restrict you from using your account. However, you can appeal through Customer Service if you are dissatisfied with the imposed restriction.
