Amendments to Kakao Operation Policy
2025-02-27Greetings from Kakao!
We'd first like to thank all our members for using Kakao Services.
Please be informed that amendments will be made to the Kakao Operation Policy effective Apr. 2, 2025.
1. Amendments
< Kakao Operation Policy >
< Daum Mail Operation Policy >
Daum Mail Inactivity Policy(New)
Daum Mail enforces an account inactivity policy to actively protect unused email accounts and reduce unnecessary marketing email transmission, ensuring a more secure service environment for active users.
1) When a user does not access Daum Mail (via PC, mobile, or IMAP/POP3) for 90 days (3 months), the account will be classified as inactive.
- Premium accounts will not be classified as inactive, even if the user does not access the service during the premium service use.
- Existing inbox/outbox messages are retained, but inactive accounts cannot receive new email and messages will be returned to the sender.
- Previously set automatic (out-of-office) replies and scheduled email will not be sent once the account becomes inactive.
- For security purposes, your POP3/SMTP and IMAP/SMTP settings will be disabled.
2) A notification will be sent via email 30 days prior to the account being classified as inactive.
3) The user account will automatically be reactivated when logging back in to Daum Mail.
- Since inactive accounts cannot receive new email, users will have to request the sender to resend any unreceived email, if needed.
